We always hear that if we push too much, we’ll burnout. But what does burnout look like?
In today’s episode, we have Kelly Swingler on the pod to discuss how she wrote her outstanding book, Mind the Gap. As Kelly and I talk about her journey of shedding light on burnout, she shares her story of quitting corporate life in 2013. Leaving the corporate world was not an easy decision as she thought she’d be in corporate for a long time.
However, there is something else in store for her. Kelly suffered burnout due to her corporate job to the point where her kids would see her work as something killing her. But that didn’t convince Kelly that she was burnt out right away. After having burnout-related medical emergencies, she realized this isn’t what life is all about.
Indeed, she loved working, and what she did but this is not worth risking everything, even her life. So, she redirected her life in a way she sees most purposeful but also kept her boundaries intact. This is one of the many things in which we’re on the same page.
Now, she is an Empowerment Coach to C-Suite and Executive Women and a Burnout Prevention Advisor to Boards and Leadership Teams, author, and podcast host of Core-Led Women. To top it all off, she also teaches yoga once a week!
Press play and listen to the story of this Wonderwoman and learn what burnout could look like and how you can deal with it or prevent it from happening.
